24 DAYS IN ICELAND

DAY 6

Höfn & Stokksnes

A day off from driving. Slept a bit late then headed out to Stokksnes to catch the sun working its way through the clouds, then up to the viewpoint at Almannaskarð. There a sign quotes Icelandic naturalist Stefán Stephánsson: “He who has not looked across East Skaftafellssyslá from Almannaskarð on a fine summers day has not seen Iceland”. It’s technically summer here - although its still 35F - and the view is magnificent.
